Someone please explain how they are selling their beet salad for $20. Just got my order from door dash and it’s was incredibly small and only had a few pieces of beets and a tiny bit of goats cheese on a bit of spring mix. It seems incredibly over priced for that
Great food, affordable price! What I really like about this place is how huge the serving is and their mac and cheese! 🤤
The design of the place is really cool. I sat on the patio, I was the only guest on the patio. It was pretty slow when I went. The pAtio does give huge camp vibes. Lights and lots of wood and bugs. The food was descent. Didn't have much flavor on its own. I wish looking for something more smoked and more flavor. You definitely have to rely on the sauces they give you. The mac and cheese actually tasted better the next day. Like way better. The service was nice and simple. You won't lose anything from trying it out, but if You have a fav/better spot stick to that. The price range is a little over average
I loved everything about Hogtown Smoke: the atmosphere, the beer, the staff, but most of all, the food. You can really taste the hours of work they put into each bite. Will definitely return soon!
My husband and friends drove to Toronto from America for a weekend visit. We came here to eat dinner after a trip to the nearby beach. The food here was DELICIOUS and our waittress was wonderful! She was very nice to us and shared her stories about her time living in Jamaica. We got a lot of food for a great price. The reason why I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 is the bathrooms downstairs. I'm sorry, but they are terrible and nasty! They weren't clean, toilet paper were everywhere and the floor was wet everywhere.
The food here is delicious. Meat is cooked to perfection. Had the El Jefe sandwich and would definitely recommend it for a first timer. Service was friendly and quick. Portions are solid but it does seem slightly pricey. Would also love to see them experiment with a few hotter sauces but overall had a great experience.
Great BBQ with friendly staff and very fair prices. Recommended.
What a great smoke house! My hubby and I visit frequently! The food is great and so is the service.
The food here is simply outstanding. There's a little bit of a kick to their sauces but nothing overbearing (unless you want it to be!)Service was great and did I mention the food was great yet?! Amazing comfort foods.
Great Wednesday special, 1/2 price ribs. Owner is really nice and welcoming. Quality can be inconsistent but usually very good. Love that they have the different sauces to try but if you go early in the day for lunch when they first open the rib sauce is still very cold from the fridge. Seems minor but certainly impacts the ribs. I think they are stored in the fridge so would recommend taking them out earlier to warm the bottles up before serving.
Food was luke warm when it arrive at out table, had to send it back. The corn bread was stale, the ribs were dry. The ribs ends were ok, the only thing good was the fried mac and cheese balls and the mac and cheese was just ok. Would never not recommend this place or come back.
This spot knows how to please their customers. Consistently with a very friendly demeanor. The food is fairly priced, regularly delightful and neat.
An absolute MUST. Best patio garden in the area...🍺🥓
I would actually rate it 3.8, not 4 yet. But the service is great and food is good. Love fries more than the meat!
I eat here a lot since I work in the area. I have to say their service is always good and they keep the place well kept consistently. Rates are affordable and they serve sizeable portions.
Scrumptious Meat!!I particularly love the burnt ends and their sandwiches are so good ( note I usually do not order sandwiches in a barbecue joint) plus other delights. I almost don't want to post this and tell other people because I want it all for myself.Nice Beer list, down to earth staff. It is what it says it is, what more do you want?P.S to the person who posted about making reservations, in my experience often it is best to do so if possible for dinner because sometimes it can be full.Other barbecue joints in the East End should beware, this contender has heavyweight potential. 👏
$20+ tax for an average sandwich and some really bad fries. Please put napkin and fork in your take out orders. We are still in this Pandemic!
Driving from a walk, had a craving for a poutine and Hogtown was nearest. What a lovely surprise! Amazing poutine with great fries, tasty gravy, plenty of cheese and amazing pulled pork. And the portions were absolutely dinner sized.Let's just say that we will be back. For another round of poutine, brisket, or one of them delicious sandwiches.
The prices are steep, but it's so worth it... The meat is perfectly cooked and spiced, the sides are also very tasty, and the beer selection is surprisingly good. A great experience.
Came here with the boyfriend on a Sunday and SO happy we did! We shared the pulled pork kitchen sink fries (SO GOOD) and a half pound of smoked brisket and it was amazing. The brisket is so flavorful, the fat melts in your mouth like heaven. We had plenty of delicious leftovers too. Service was quick and friendly, too. If you love good BBQ, come here!!
Great staff, friendly, knowledgeable and looked into allergies promptly.
Nice spot, however the food did not live up to the hype or what I’ve seen online. Service was great, wait time reasonable, and a nice selection of options. However.. everything we ordered felt like it was not fresh or was just reheated. Brisket that’s smoked that long, should have fallen apart in my hands. It felt like leather and looked dry. Trust me, I’ve smoked my own on several occasions, and the ribs were so stiff and felt like they were also reheated. This was also confirmed once we had a bite, it was almost a challenge to eat the ribs and brisket. The fried chicken was also super dry. Maybe we got the end of the day special, who knows. There are far better options around the city and options that are fresh off the smoke.
Great food and quick service. I would recommend making a reservation as the place is a bit small.
Bbq rocks!!! Some if the best ribs I have had in a long time. Casual and relaxing place. Give it try.
This place has the meats! We ordered the brisket platter with side of fries (lots of sides to choose from) and could barely finish this juicy tender beef. Cheap pints as well with domestic and craft on tap. Lovely back patio with lots of seating.
Good food, nice causal ambience, good service. Would return!
I love this restaurant! They give delicious food, their menu is rich, The chef in that place is well trained, I love very much tasting all their food. The food is always good, the service towards the guests is helpful. I often eat in this place and I not even once was unhappy. I recommend it with no hesitation.
Small place with big atmosphere, staff who know their food. If you get there early you can dine on a treat which are their burnt ends so delicious and tender you do not need a knife. Eat them alone or with the Hogtown's in house made BBQ sauces A little pricey but well worth going
Definitely a must try if you're in the area. Very good selection of meats, some stuff is really pricey though (worth it definitely). The sandwiches are perfect for 2 and most food items on the menu really sate your appetite. However their isn't much vegan fare on the menu, but it is a bbq joint so that's to be expected.
Usually great but just got an UBER order with inedible side ribs - dry and very, very tough. They are going in the trash. Half chicken was so so but at $22, I would not order again. Grill cheese got a very enthusiastic two thumbs up. Stick with the Burnt Ends if you want a great experience
The food will leave you speechless, absolutely outstanding. Staff is very friendly and accommodating too. By far the best BBQ joint in the GTA in my opinion.
Pricey...slow...don't go if in a rush. Quite expensive but the portions were huge. Definitely sharable. Service was friendly. Pulled pork poutine was amazing. $21.00 but served 3 of us just fine.
This place is my favored. I go to a lot of restaurants but to this restaurant I constantly return again and again. The crew is very cordial and the cooking they cook is so delicious. I would always prefer to have a decent dinner in this restaurant. Highly recommended.
My wife and I went there and will definitely be back! Huge portions, worth the price. The owner was also the wait staff and Super nice to talk to. Meat done perfectly and they stick to what they know best!
One of my main places to grab some food. awesome location, neat, and awesome customer service. I highly recommend them!
Now this establishment was made with love and care!Everything that was on this menu was created with love and happiness. the owner is very personable and explains everything! They really made the first time to Toronto amazing. I will for sure be back to this fine establishment!Im not a food critic but it's all great food and better than the next! try it you will not be dissapointed!
Overall a wonderful experience for southern bbq!!We had the chicken wings, brisket and baby back ribs. Surprisingly the chicken wings were the best of the bunch!! The beef Brisket was alright, and the baby back ribs were soft and juicy. Great beer selection and the staff are so friendly. I recommend this place!! Highly!!
I certainly enjoyed their food and service, good location nearby to my residence. The employees are always friendly. I highly recommend this place.
Dishes were delicious, flavourful and moist along with very good sauces. Chicken wings were a bit dry. Menu on the website is not accurate and they should have the updated version at the resto. A few were not available so it’s a bit disappointing. Wished they had more selection of craft beers. Service good but food came a bit long because the kitchen cooks for two restaurants.
Excellent food and service. Properly done deep fried pickles!
Today I went to Hogwton Smoke particularly because it looks good online; however I couldn’t event try the food. I went in there and there was only one table with people who had already eaten their food, and another couple picking up an order. I sat for 10 minutes and even thought a woman at the bar acknowledged our presence nobody approach us for menus or anything. It’s just insulting to go to a place and not even get handed a menu.Wouldn’t recommend to anybody at all
We had a superb time in this spot. We liked the excellent environment and the meals. The staff members were very welcoming. I’m happy we eventually managed to visit here.
Small portions and very expensive for the value. Very nice staff though
Great food of course it's beef and pork ribs and pulled pork are fantastic. I was surprised how good their salads are. Suggest skip the fries and get a side salad. Eating there is pleasant and they have a bar with plenty of choices. Staff are friendly, and helpful. Prices were good expect to spend 20-25 dollars per person, this excludes beer or liquor.
Flat out amazing! One of the only places to get burnt ends in the GTA. Don’t know what burnt ends are? Then you don’t know what you are missing out on. If you show up at adamson bbq at noon on a Saturday and don’t want to wait the hour for their fantastic barbecue (because it is worth the wait), drive down the road to here and you will not be disappointed! No wait time, great staff, fries are nice and crispy, tasty sauces if you like. A+++
It looked like there were some great options here. I went with a jerk chicken and pork sandwich which was good but I should have gone with the ribs. I will come back again. There is also an outdoor patio here which I didn’t see. The interior is small but they take reservations. Might be wise to book in advance if you are coming here.
This restaurants is one of my favourites in the city. I’ve been here multiple times. The service is always friendly and very helpful. They have a great drink selection including two different Mules and a good beer list. If you’re going to try anything there I recommend the brisket by far the best thing on the menu. Baby back ribs delicious! Mac and cheese, bacon wrapped onion. They also have a fries tower which is heavy but good. You’ll need to go there twice to try everything. Don’t make plans after this meal you won’t be able to move.
Now featuring 1/2 price sized portions for a full price bill!Ordered a fried chicken sandwich ($17) with side sweet potato fries (+$3) and a beet salad ($20) thinking that would be good for two to share. It wasn’t. The sandwich was tiny, on a groc store burger bun, and the small handful of fries was not what one would expect for $20. I agree with another reviewer, $20 for a few canned beet slices and a sprinkle of goat cheese on a small side-portion of mixed greens was really underwhelming for the price. We both left still hungry and wondering how they can charge those prices. I would have been ok with it all if the bill was $18, but it was more than double that.
We went there for my wife’s birthday as she wanted to have ribs and this was the nearest place with decent reviews. We made a reservation and were seated immediately after we went. But the ribs we were served were dry. The wings were okay and the only thing we liked was the kitchen sink stacked fries. This place is not cheap either. We spent over 130 dollars for 3 people and expected better food.
Both burgers we ordered were very dry and had no sauce on them? Also very expensive for what you get.. 20$ per burger.. not worth it. Our server was great though!
